SIKESTON Sikeston Department of Public Safety is planning ahead of the April 8 solar eclipse and will staff extra officers for the weekend of eclipse-related events. Members of the public are also encouraged to plan ahead of the events. The total solar eclipse is slated to begin at 1:58 p.m. Monday, April 8 and will last for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
