This is in reply to the Nov. 18 (Speakout) lady complaining about the free food given at the Sikeston Public Schools. If your children don’t like the food, then you could get off your butt and make them breakfast at home and also pack a lunch for them. My mother worked full time and made our breakfast and packed our lunch daily. My schools did not provide free lunches, and it was a treat to occasionally eat warm prepared school food. I don’t really believe that the school served your children molded food. If your daughter is in high school and doesn’t like the food, she is old enough to make and pack her own lunch.

Letter: Community Thanksgiving Dinner serves 875 meals

Dear Editor: Once again, we executed the Community Thanksgiving Dinner with no walk rounds, no phone calls, due to safety issues. We served 875 meals out the door and into each vehicle with a minimum of contact, thus protecting the volunteers and the recipients from the recent outbreak of new strains of viruses. As always, we got the job done. That 875 does not include the buckets of food we sent out because we ran out of to go boxes. Over 300 of the meals were sent to outlying areas...
