Sikeston girls soccer team easily moves into district title game

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- The top-seeded Sikeston girls soccer team rolled past No. 4 North County 9-0 during the semifinal round of the Class 3, District 1 tournament on Tuesday in Farmington, Mo.

A hat trick by Larysa McClellon led the way for Sikeston. Emma Jones and Mackenzie Yant each scored two goals while Kylie Noe and Jade Davis each had a goal as well.

It was also Sikeston's 11th shutout of the season, which is a school record.

Sikeston (15-5) will take on third-seeded Cape Central, who defeated No. 2 Farmington 3-2 in two overtimes in the other semifinal, Thursday at 6 p.m. in Farmington.

Sikeston already owns a win over Cape Central beating the Tigers 2-1 April 18 at Cape Central High School.
