SD ROUNDUP: Cauble's 42 points leads Oran past Charleston

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Oran sophomore Leah Cauble once again shined bright and scored three less points than the entire Charleston team to lead the Eagles to a conference victory on the road 82-45

Cauble busted a game-high 42 points and recorded four steals for Oran (18-2, 5-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference), which flew out to a 26-point lead at halftime. Freshman Kaylee Payne tallied 16 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists for the Eagles. Jessie Long grabbed nine rebounds and Claire Ramsey snagged seven rebounds.

Ashanti Jones scored 22 points while Connor Watkins finished with 14 points for Charleston (15-7, 4-1).

Both teams return to the court on Monday. Oran travels to Marble Hill, Mo., to take on Woodland while Charleston visits Scott County Central.

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Abbie Reece nailed a game-high 28 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Tigers in the big road win over the Eagles.

Corrie Reece recorded 14 points and four assists for Cape Central (7-12) , which maintained a 20-point cushion at the break and held the hosts to single digits after each of the final two frames. Sydney Tollison tallied 11 points and three steals while Yienvi Johnson notched 11 rebounds and eight points for the Tigers.

Alexis Phillips scored 15 points to pace New Madrid County Central (9-10). The Eagles will have a week off before returning to the court on February 9 when they will travel to Benton to take on Kelly.

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Katie Glueck posted a double-double with a game-high 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Red Devils in the conference win at home over the Hawks.

Kylie Wilhite tallied 14 points, five rebounds and three steals for Chaffee (13-7, 4-1 Scott-Mississippi Conference). The Red Devils maintained a nine-point lead at the break and held the Hawks to single digits in the final two quarters on their way to victory.

Alyssa Tidwell netted 12 points to sustain Kelly (6-11, 2-3) in the loss.

Chaffee has another conference game tonight when the Red Devils will travel to Scott County Central in a rescheduled game from earlier this season. Kelly hosts Caruthersville on Monday.

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- The Kennett Indians varsity girls basketball team allowed just five field goals as it cruised past the East Prairie Eagles 53-17 Thursday night.

Kennett led 32-5 by halftime.

A running clock was present throughout the fourth period as the Indians maintained a lead larger than 30 points during the final eight minutes of regulation.

Kennett senior center Heidi Shetley led all scorers with 19 points.

Kennett junior small forward Dakayla Duckworth hit half of her team's four treys. She finished with 16 points.

Grace Sutton paced East Prairie with five points.
