Sikeston finishes fourth after SEMO Conference North Division pool play, Oran tops south

JACKSON, Mo. -- The Sikeston volleyball team finished fourth out of five teams during the SEMO Conference tournament north division pool play Tuesday at Jackson High School.

The Bulldogs (14-12) finished 2-6 through eight sets sweeping No. 5 Cape Central for its only win. Jackson earned the top seed with a perfect 8-0 record followed by Notre Dame and Poplar Bluff.

In the south division played in Scott City, Mo., Oran prevailed as the top seed after four matches.

The Eagles finished 7-1 through eight sets taking down Kennett, Scott City and Charleston while splitting with New Madrid County Central 25-16, 24-26.

Scott City finished 5-3 to take the second seed followed by Kennett, NMCC and Charleston.

The north and south will come together on Thursday in Scott City to compete in bracket play during the 10-team, single elimination bracket.
