While I understand their position, I also know that Council and I made a pledge to our voters to clean up our community, and work toward the restoration of our neighborhoods. POPLAR BLUFF - Traffic accidents in the area resulted in three fatalities and injuries Friday. A Benton man died early Saturday when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Robert L. Keen, 78, was traveling south on Highway 77, four miles North of Diehlstadt when the accident occurred at 5:50 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott County Coroner Scott Amick. I have a question. When the police pick up somebody and take them to jail and put them in drug rehab, why don't they let the parents know that they have been picked up. Parents sit at home and worry, wondering what has happened to their child, not knowing if they've been kidnapped or what. This is wrong. If they pick them up, they should let the parents know. It wouldn't take them five minutes to let them know...

What concerns me is that far too many students will return to school with no incentive from home to excel in the classroom.
