The Youth Services Program at the New Madrid County Family Resource Center sponsored a jeans and coat drive. The drive started in November and ended Dec. 12. Thanks to the help of the many community members and the New Madrid County area schools, the drive was a great success. There were more than 40 community members who brought in donations and the New Madrid County Central Science Club, the counselors and the school nurses participated in the drive...

A funny thing happened on the way to the 2003 Community Christmas Campaign. It seems that a change of policy that selected new recipients and not those who apply year after year worked. And, according to those volunteers who delivered the Christmas baskets this week, it worked exceptionally well...
