BENTON - It took a jury about three hours to find a Sikeston man guilty of statutory sodomy in the first degree. Elmer L. Tyra was found guilty following a two-day jury trial, which ended Tuesday. The charges against Tyra stem from an incident which occurred between Aug. 15 and Aug. 16, 2001, at a residence on Ruth Street in Sikeston.
